Once that you have reached the Church of holy
Maria, you can cross another pedestrian path in the middle
bank between the river Po and the bank Teacher.
This street shows the typical farmhouses of
the “Padania”, next to the bed of the River, every year
exposed to risk of flood. Some farmhouses are still lived,
others are abandoned for safety motives.
The run is interesting for many reasons,
first of all for the possibility to see the "lanche", little
ponds of different dimensions owed to the annual floods of
the river Po or, more rarely, to spring.
It’s an important characteristic of the
country, because around the lanches there is a
micro-environment populated by different kinds. The
itinerary is interesting because shows the devastantis
effects of the floods of the river Po along the banks and
the interventions of reconstruction that realize as the
apparent calm of the river can be turned into devastating
fury.
